(Next to last)Movie Night
Is everybody gearing up for the GOP's G.O.P.? We had Fruity Rum Punch for the DNC, we've got to have at least one Rum drink in honor of D'Rummy. Any ideas?

To get in the RNC/NYC mood, tonight's flick(which involves campaigning in a round about way) is Taxi Driver(1976). I was gonna make a crack about Giuliani "cleaning-up" NYC, but I thought better of it.

Anyway, this movie is another reminder that regardless of our personal stance on military action taken by our government(or your government), we've got to support the vets, and that includes mental health care.

dear chinq,

I had no idea what the heck to make of Taxi Driver. I liked it and I hated it too. But still, good choice. Classic.

A rum and coke always goes down easy. Coke as in Coca-Cola. Let's not get too crazy...

Mt.Annie,

"Rum-y-Coke" sounds like a nice, conservative drink you'd get at a country club(and you know, GWB loves to speak Spanish). Perfect for the RNC.

Would you mind if I nickname you Montie(for my use only)? Nicknames are the only thing I have in common with GWB, although I only use them in print.

Ah yes, Taxidriver, such fun...

Maybe we are all due for a nifty new nickname, how about we pick a movie and put all the characters' names in a hat, and we each pick one to be for the night, and whenever that character says a choice phrase, or a word with the secret letter in it, you have to drink...

Drop your keys in the safe folks, it's gonna be a long night...

Geez, I MUST be getting short...

Col, I loooove that idea! Can I be Hunnybunny from Pulp Fiction? Just kiddin'. But that would be fun. Come on, let's do it!

Col,

Isn't there a word/phrase for gettin' really short? I remember something from that wonderful Edutainment show "China Beach". I was really hoping Young world take over "The West Wing", or get his own show.

My cat is a Travis, but he's named for a fictional dectecive. My cousin is a Travis, but he's named for Travis AFB. One more Travis in my family would be too confusing, but I like the game.

Lets keep our keys in a seperate bowl. That game could get The Nut House in trouble.

Here's to gettin' short(clink).

Montie is fine. Just an FYI, the real Monte is the official mascot of the University of Montana Grizzlies and also happens to be the 2002-2003 National Champion Mascot of the Year (Capital One/ESPN).

Here is his website:

Also, I think there was a western star called Montie Montana. Someone also said that was a porn star's name but I wouldn't know anything about that. :)

Sooner or later I will be so short, I will be eye level with the feline...

Loved China Beach, my mother got me into it when I was younger...that and Dallas.

Who shot JR? I found out...mommy fell asleep...hehe...

I think a waiver of responsibility could be drafted to solve the key situation...

Let's just hope nothing gets passed that says, "you have to be THIS tall to enter this bar." I may never have any fun again...
