The Nut House
Friday, 20 August 2004
Coming Attractions
We've got about a half hour 'til sunset. Tonight's feature will be NASHVILLE(1975) . We'll screen the movie 1st, the break for an hour, then run it again with Altman's commentary.

Lynchburg is close enough to Nashville, so all drinks with JACK are 25% off. And we've got every kind of BBQ item with Jack Daniel's BBQ sauce.

All Saturn drivers, free valet parking.
Vanderbilt Alumni... we'll think of something.

The fog's gettin' heavy, so bring a jacket. I'll fire up the heaters, watch the brawlin' with all that whiskey nearby.

I'll fill you in on the family illness situation tomorrow. So far, so good, but Mr.Man's flown home to help out.

Col,

Best bet around here is a chopper or sea plane. Otherwise, look for a long, flat stretch of road, or jump. I'll have the valets park in an X pattern.

Bro-in-law is hanging on, but complications may get the best of him. If he was a cat, he'd be on his 8th or 9th life. He's had a good, long run(84), so there's no need for him to hang on if it's just to much for him.

By the way, I'm the Queen of the grill, but help is always appreciated. Just don't make me stand in the smoke. OH... I am missin' my grandpa's ribs.

Should I have a mustard rub ready for you?(I almost wrote "...ready for your meat", at least I'm self editing today.)

I know a Freudian slip when I see one...for shame...

I am actually quite partial to a homemade rub of sorts that I came up with, I use a variation to coat my chicken wings when I fire up the frier...it's spectacular...I should enter a contest or soemthing...

Nah, I have spent most of my life cooking in one way, shape or form, hell, it got me thru college...I will be sure to bring over a pot of soup, or chilli and some sauce to coat the "meat" as it were...

Always wanted to try skydiving...I'll have to give it a shot...I hope they make HALO ziplock bags....

I'll take a warm Dr. Pepper with Jack and a teaspoon full of lemon juice, if you don't mind, since I'm feeling a little more on the spry side...
Best of luck with the family illness sitch. I know what it's like and it can be somewhat of a panicky thing, if only for a little while.

chinq? Nashville? Watch it, then watch it again with commentary? Are you crazy? That has to be the longest, boringest movie ever. I think it's an awful excuse for a film. Call my taste bad, but really... I wish the studio had told Robert Altman that he better cut a freaking hour or two off his film. It would have been much better.

Rancette,

I must confess, I'd never seen Nashville 'til Movie Night. I'd have had more action take place during many of the songs.

It ain't no M*A*S*H, but it plays better with a JACK beverage of you choice. Or maybe a drinking game. And Rancette, I'm certain you have tastey taste.

Col,

Sad to say, I've had an unfortunate pseudo-psychic thing again. Please don't try to fly/jump into The Nut House. We've had a mid-air crash between 2 light aircraft just off the coast. The valets will not be parking the cars in any special formation.

Everyone, be careful out there.

awwww chinq, how sweet of you to say (I eat up flattery so fast can't you tell?). So PLEEEASE tell me you did not watch Nashville and then watch it again with commentary. Pleease tell me you didn't stay up till 3 in the morning with nothing to show, but extreme drowsiness the next day! I'm begging you!

If you're going to pick out movies for next week, try to pick ones out that won't torture you to death.

Rancette,

The DVD doesn't have to go back 'til Saturday, so I didn't use it as a sleep aid.
