The Nut House

Safe topic: Au Revoir to Rance
Mood:  blue
Now Playing: Karrin Allyson's "Azure Te"
Well folks, looks like the shrimp's on the house. Dig in.

Sittin' here sippin' an Absolut Bloody Marie. Sorry to say , I'm not in a chit-chatty mood. So here's a transcript of a message I left for Sass a couple of hours ago.

Sass, it's chinq,

I just don't know about Rance. My 1st comment was posted yesterday, I've only sent 4, and one was this morning. Looks like he, or the A.S. are giving all posters atleast 1 shot, not a good sign.

Why can't Rance write monthly, like Dominick Dunne. Well, like a younger, hipper(are we still using that word)version. If he could post "BLOGGITY FAIR" 2 weeks after Vanity Fair comes out, that's 2 fixes a month for me. God, I'll have to start reading Countess Esterhazy(sp) in W again... I'll cheat at the bookstore. OK, that'd be 3 out of 4 weeks a month... WHERE AM I GOING TO FIND ANOTHER SOURCE???

Sorry. I guess we'll have to look to eachother for support & Tales Of The City - South.

I'll say this, bloggin' has released something in me. I was never a writer, not even a journaler(sp?). I couldn't even keep a diary as a girl. I hate for anyone to read what I write, but this anomymous blogging is so freeing...BEEP

So, the King is dead, long live...what the hell, ME! I'm not applying for the slot, I'm just wishing myself the best. Vive la Nut House!!!

OK, the Blues are lifting, but Mr. Man needs the computer. We'll chat later.

Pas la fin,

Chinquapin

Rance has been interesting, but I love reading other peopels blogs anout their life. There is something comforting and entertaining in it all. Plus some of the real life stuff is very funny. Blog on!

Ja, Chinq:

We are all very sad about this, but I for one am very grateful for people like you, who broke off and started their own blogs. I'm new to this - what two weeks maybe? You've saved me from interminable boredom at work. I'd never read any of these blogs before (I hit a link that said Rance was George Clooney), I am kind of shy (have you noticed I'm taking a few more risks?), and would never be able to do this unless it was anonymously. You, Blogger's Paradise, Rancelot and other blogs on your link list have made Rance's leaving so much easier for me, because it means that I don't have to quit blogging "cold turkey." AND to be totally honest, I really did like your blogs even better than Rance's, because it seemed like you and Rancelot and the others were actually THERE - you posted often, you responded to comments - and I didn't feel like I had to get through those middlemen, the Administrative Staff, who only allowed me through so very occasionally. There's INTERACTION on your blog; whereas on Rance's, I felt like I was writing to a Machine, and maybe the Machine would take pity on me and post. As it was, I wrote comments to other people's comments that rarely saw the light of day. You don't do that (however, when you get really big, you may have to).

Anyway, I think you're very funny; very good with plays on words - I actually did think (and still am not sure) that you were some kind of comedienne - so whatever you do, don't quit. People are going to need someplace else to turn. As for me, I'm glad so I was there at your Opening, and so glad you introduced me to Rancelot, and by extension, Ken, Vanessa, SmallFry0, etc.

Thanks, and don't be too sad. You're doing just fine.
I.

Hey I,

No sadness, I was in a Bluesy mood anyway. I love "Azure Te".

I know what you mean about the BLOG-O-MATIC element to certain blogs. But as I mentioned in someone else's blog(Vance's I think), I'm replacing my undesireable habit of News Junkie with Blog Junkie(less undesirable). Hey Dr. Phil, it worked.

I HAD to get up early this Saturday morning, merde. Got to get going.

Chinnq,

Not for posting. Just need a little information. How do you fix it so you have links to other blogs. Would like to do that but don't know how.

Well kiss my grits chinq! Who would have thought your comment section was like a card layed, a card played, right to the comment box without your moderation. A towel please love as I wipe this egg off my face.

thanks for the instructions.

Cat,

At this point in time, it's all go at The Nut House. That may change, but as I've said, "The Nut House is open to everyone. No restrictions."

Except for The Back Room.

Should I put out the call for a Bartender/Bouncer for The Back Room? Anyone have a bit of free time on their hands?

Wonder if foxxyman would be interested? We could use a Foxy Man at The Nut House.

Chinq,
Just took advantage of your invitation to check out the nut house...
I like what I see.
I may be the most well-spoken and intelligent person I know (which isn't saying much), but it's good to see well thought-out blogging ability here on Tripod. I must say, I have to come back for a party and see if I can comprehend to whirlwind of commentary here! Keep up the good work!

PS, if you ever need a 'land pad', the Rantsville Apartment complex has several low-rent units available. :)
